Wedding stories contest rules

2. Nature of the contest

This is a contest judged on merit, not a prize draw: the winner is chosen by assessing the submitted stories, and no random mechanism is involved. Participation is free and does not require any purchase or payment.

3. Who can take part

Anyone aged 18 or over who submits a story through the form at weddings.help. Employees of the organiser and their direct relatives are excluded.

4. Period and editions

The contest runs in monthly editions. Each edition covers the calendar month in which the story is submitted (Spanish peninsular time) and closes on the last day of that month at 23:59. Stories received after that time compete in the following edition.

5. How to take part

Submit a real story that happened at a wedding, using the form. You must provide a valid email address so we can contact you if you win, and tick the box authorising publication. Stories must be your own, must not include identifying details of third parties without their consent, and must not contain insults, discriminatory content or anything unlawful. The organiser may reject any entry that breaches these rules, without any right to compensation.

6. Judging criteria

The organiser selects one winning story per edition, assessing: how genuine and specific the account is, how well it is told, and how interesting it is for people planning a wedding. The decision is discretionary and final. If no entry reaches sufficient quality, the edition may be declared void.

7. Prize

One full Weddings.help plan (Wedding Pass) per edition, granted to the account of the winner. The prize is personal, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. It is awarded in kind and its value does not reach the threshold requiring withholding under Spanish tax rules.

8. Notification

The winner is notified by email at the address given in the form, within the first ten days of the following month. If there is no reply within 15 calendar days, the prize may be declared void or awarded to the next best story.

9. Publication

By taking part you authorise the organiser to publish your story on weddings.help and on its social media, free of charge and without a time limit. Your name is published only if you expressly ticked that box; otherwise the story appears anonymously. The organiser may correct typos and shorten the text without altering its meaning. You may ask for your story to be withdrawn at any time by writing to [email protected].

10. Data protection

Controller: HERA TECH VENTURES SL. Purpose: to manage the contest, assess entries, contact the winner and publish the selected stories. Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the corresponding box. Retention: entries are kept while the contest is running and for the periods required by law; published stories remain online until withdrawal is requested. Rights: you may access, rectify, erase, object, restrict and port your data by writing to [email protected], and lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

Subscribing to the newsletter is optional and separate: it is not a condition for taking part, and it is given through its own unticked box. You can unsubscribe at any time.

11. Acceptance and applicable law

Taking part implies full acceptance of these rules. They are governed by Spanish law, and any dispute is subject to the courts of Madrid, except where mandatory consumer protection rules allow the participant to use the courts of their own domicile.
